Autumn showers and colder days are rolling in, but the Cat Café remains open — Monday to Saturday, 10:00am to 2:45pm .

Please keep an eye on our Facebook and social media pages for any updates or changes.
Booking ahead is still important. If we don’t answer the phone, please leave a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

We’ll be closed from Christmas week through to New Year’s.
Exact dates will be confirmed closer to the time on our social channels.

We appreciate your continued support, even through the winter months.
And if we don’t see you before Christmas, from all of us here we wish you a very Merry Christmas.

The summer of 2025 has flown by, and as the evenings begin to draw in, we find ourselves already looking toward the autumn months. ��

Please note: we will be closed from Friday 5th September to Friday 12th September for renovations and a full deep clean. This little pause will help us keep the café fresh, cosy, and ready to welcome you through the colder months ahead.

Summer is here, and Darling Darlings Cat Lounge is running summer hours (March to September): Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am – 3:45 pm , with the last session at 3 pm. Located at 57A Marine Parade , just opposite the horse & carriages near Britannia Pier, we’re one of the most beloved coastal cafés in Great Yarmouth.

�� Booking & Voice Message Policy

We strongly recommend booking in advance —sessions fill up fast, especially during summer weekends

Call at 01493 857450 between 8:30 am and 9:45 am , as lines are often busy later in the day
If we don’t answer— please don’t keep ringing repeatedly . Leave us a voice message with:

Here’s a checklist of all booking details required (as per our How to Book page)

�� Planning Your Visit: Parking Tips

Located right on the seafront, parking can get busy quickly. We strongly advise:

Allowing plenty of time to park
Be prepared to park a short distance away and enjoy a scenic walk
Aim to arrive 5 minutes before your session , so you can catch the house rules talk and settle in comfortably

�� What to Expect When You Visit

We’re one of the most affordable cat lounges in the UK — just £3 per adult and £2 per child under 12 (under 1-year-old is free)
Each session lasts 50 minutes in summer (shortened to 45 minutes for the 3 pm slot) to allow for cleaning and rest time for our feline stars
You’ll enjoy a cosy retro-themed lounge with vintage décor from the 1950s onward—and of course, friendly, therapy-trained cats: Coconut, Teddy, Stanley, Maverick, Ernie, and Olive

Summer has officially arrived here at Darling Darlings Cat Lounge , and with the sunshine comes our summer opening hours ! We’re now open daily from 10:00am to 3:45pm , giving you even more time to spend with our lovely feline friends.

Please note that our last session of the day ends at 3:45pm , five minutes earlier than usual. This gives us a bit of extra time to safely pack up the cats for their journey home . We appreciate your understanding!

�� Important Info About the 3:00pm Session
Our final session of the day at 3:00pm is walk-in only . That means no bookings are taken for this time slot , so if you'd like to join, simply line up outside the lounge and we’ll let people in on a first-come, first-served basis . It’s a great chance to squeeze in a spontaneous visit, just don’t be late!

Spring Awakening!

With Winter moving away and the spring sun making quite an early appearance, we look forward to seeing all of you for this years season. A reminder of our opening hours being Tuesday - Sunday, 10am - 3.45pm. We still to this day strongly recommend booking in advance to avoid any disappointment when planning to make a visit; our phonelines are open from 8.30 in the morning, with voicemail always available should you not reach us.

Winter Opening Hours Update

Well, November and the cold really are here. The Great Yarmouth Season is well and truly over, and the seafront becomes a ghosttown once again. If you are looking to join us, we do advise you to book in advance. With the days being so cold and long, we like to utilise this time to book the needed vet checks and appointments around. Although Saturdays we still become very busy, we are more than happy to take in walk-ins��‍➡️, but weekdays remain extremely quiet, and as previously mentioned, we may have days off to get those important visits in. So please do book ahead of coming so we know to expect you, as some days if it is dead we will close early too. With the prices of electricity going up, it seems silly to have everything running and no one visiting.

Winter Woolies With Maverick

Now that Summer has left us behind, and the October Half Term is finished; we think now is a great time to crack out those winter warmers to keep us all nice and toastie. Maverick and Ernie of course, are always ahead of the game with their jimjams and blankets. The nights are shorter and the air is certainly sharper, but that wont stop us looking after you lovely lot. Despite the town being quieter now the peak has ended, we're still here Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 2:45pm. Further updates will be provided for when we plan to close for the Christmas period.

What's in the know?

It's time to brush off those Winter woollies and get ready for the new season with us at Darling Darlings!

We have re-opened our doors for another blissful year starting from the 9th January, looking forward to everyone's company. As we are still in our off peak hours, our opening times currently remain:

Tuesday - Saturday 10:00AM - 2:45PM.

We are looking to reintroduce our Sunday's again from Mother's Day/Mothering Sunday.

Booking of course is still advised to guarantee visitors availability as we start to get busier, the closer we get into the height of the season.

Afternoon Tea's and Cream Tea's are still on the go but are still pre-bookable only as we like to maintain peak freshness with all of our menu items - a minimum of 48 hours notice is ideal - any further questions if not able to be answered via the FAQ can be answered by the team either via: Email, Facebook, Insta or Telephone (Bookings are only taken via telephone so we can provide you with the correct information needed).

Phone lines are open from 8:30AM, if you haven't reached us please feel free to leave us your name, number and a short message and we'll get back to you at our earliest convenience.

Bringing Cats and People Together

Hey, Thomas here sorry its been so long for a blog to have been posted, my work has changed and I am no longer helping at the cat café during the week, but I am still here behind closed doors.

Well what can I say? It has been an ABSOUTELY AWESOME Summer! It has been a really good year for 2023. And the whole of DDCL would like to thank each every one of you who have visited, followed us and for everyone who has showed their support.

As some of you maybe aware, we are open all year round from Tuesday to Saturday 10-2:45pm. We still ALWAYS advise booking and calling us; 01493 857450.' We will finish our 2023 season on Thursday the 21st September and will reopen on Friday the 5th of January 2024.

It being a quieter time of the year, it gives us the opportunity allow more groups, parties, team building and fundraising. If you would like to participate in helping us with any of our fundraising which includes donating any unused, unwanted items of ANY category please get in touch with us and we can arrange for them to be dropped off or if local we can collect them.

Please don't hesitate to get in contact with us on any of our socials or even the comments below. And from all of us at the Cat Lounge we wish you Happy Holidays.

Opening times (Autumn/Winter 2023)

Good day everyone from here at Darling Darlings Cat Lounge. The summer is now over and things have quietened down. With kids now back at school our opening times have now shifted too the winter hours which are as follows.

Monday: Closed

Tuesday: 10am - 2:45pm

Wednesday: 10am - 2:45pm

Thursday: 10am - 2:45pm

Friday: 10am - 2:45pm

Saturday: 10am -2:45pm

Sunday: Closed

Now the summer holidays are over, there is more time to have more family time or to work elsewhere. Being a small team this would mean there will be some closures, but we will do our best to keep you well informed on those dates.

The current known dates are as followed.

We will re-open on Thursday the 21st of September as normal.

We will then be closed on these further dates.

A NEW CAT!

Welcome Princess Olive

Everyone, we told you we had some news and this is it!

Baby number 6 is our first rescue GIRL!

She joins our five boys, making her the FIRST Princess of the bunch. Found as a stray, all green, riddled with fleas, no microchip, not spayed. She had been living on a main road and in and out of building land where baby foxes had just been born. She is lucky to be here!

The transition with the boys has been brilliant and it still going to be a few weeks till she joins us full time. She will be going in for her spay tomorrow and then she will need healing time. Lucky she gets the house to herself when the boys are at work!

So please, give a warm welcome to Princess Olive!

Her forever home is now with us!

Olive because she was so green when found. Princess because she is a diva. She is very vocal, friendly, a definite lap cat, and face nudger!

Are you ready to step back in time and test your knowledge of yesteryear?

Join us at the Darling Darlings Cat Lounge at 7pm on the 30th April for our Back in Time Quiz!

With each step you take you're sure to see something new and nostalgic as you settle down for a Quiz which literally takes place in a space back in time. The entire lounge is decorated and home to one of the largest collection retro items in 1950s all the way to the 1990s!

First up, we have a quiz with 50 questions and a picture round with anagrams to test your knowledge and even a game of sticky 13 a fun twist on the classic game of bingo which is just £1 a go.

So, if you haven't got a team yet, don't delay! Grab your friends, family, or colleagues and come on down to Darling Darlings Cat Lounge for a night of trivia, fun, and excitement. While there are no cats on-site during the event, we promise you'll still have a great time.

Just remember, the quiz is just for fun, there are prizes to be won this event, so make sure you get involved.

Wowzers! Darling Darlings Cat Lounge has had a fantastic first few weeks of spring with some exciting events. Wowzer Wednesday had visitors buzzing, and on that day, entry was just £1. Thrifty Thursday focused on arts and crafts, and Freebie Friday had free entry for all visitors. These events will return at the end of the summer, so be sure to keep an eye out for them!

As Easter approaches, the café is getting into the holiday spirit with some Easter Madness. Visitors can enjoy a delicious Easter-themed afternoon tea for just £14.50, featuring an array of tasty treats. Check out the café's website for the full menu.

In addition to the afternoon tea, Darling Darlings Cat Lounge is also offering a variety of unique Easter treats. These include filled Easter egg shells, Easter-themed milkshakes, pancakes, and waffles, among others. Please note that these treats are not part of the afternoon tea and are sold separately.

But the Easter fun doesn't end there! On Sunday, April 30th, the café is hosting a fun quiz night called "Back in Time." The quiz focuses on the 80s and 90s and offers visitors the chance to win many prizes. Entry is just £1 per person, and groups of up to five people can participate.

This Week at Darling Darlings (21st WC)

Last week at Darling Darlings Cat Lounge was filled with exciting events, and we were thrilled to see so many happy customers enjoying our offerings. With Mother's Day week, a St. Patrick's Day deal, and a Retro & Vintage day, there was something for everyone.

Our Mother's Day themed afternoon tea was a roaring success, and we were delighted to see so many mums and their loved ones spending quality time together in our cozy cat lounge. The St. Patrick's Day special deal was also very popular and was snapped up quickly by our customers.

On Sunday, we hosted a Retro & Vintage day which focused on the nostalgia of yesteryear. Customers enjoyed playing retro board games and consoles like the NES and Sega, and the day was a huge hit.

This week, we have some exciting events planned, and we can't wait to see our customers again. On Wowzers Wednesday, we are offering entry for only £1 per person, but we highly advise booking over the phone to avoid disappointment. Thrifty Thursday is all about crafting, and customers can enjoy making cards, knitting, embroidery, needle felting, crocheting, and more at no extra cost.

On Freebie Friday, there is no entry fee, and it's first come first served, so be sure to come early to secure your spot. Finally, on Sunday, we are hosting another Nostalgic Day, with a focus on retro items and the vintage side of the cafe. There will be no cats on site and no entry fee, so come and play retro games, and enjoy the ambiance of our cozy cat lounge.

CELEBRATING MOTHERS DAY EVERYWHERE

It's a week of celebrations at Darling Darlings Cat Lounge, as we honour mothers everywhere and also celebrate St. Patrick's Day. From Tuesday, March 14th until Saturday, March 18th, we'll be offering a themed afternoon tea for £14.50 per person, including food and drink with free refills on teas and coffees. If you fancy a milkshake, it's just an extra £2. Don't forget to book 48 hours in advance . The afternoon tea will be available from 10am until 2:45pm.

On Friday, March 17th, come and join us for St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Wear green and get a great deal for just £10, which includes entry, cake, and hot tea or coffee.

Then on Sunday, March 19th, we're hosting another Nostalgic Day from 11am until 4ish. This time, we're taking a trip down memory lane with a focus on nostalgic memories from the 1950s to the 1990s. You'll have a chance to indulge in old toys, games, and even retro consoles. The best part is, there's no entry fee on this day, but please note that there won't be any cats on site. If you'd like to also enjoy the Mother's Day themed afternoon tea, make sure to book 48 hours in advance .

House Rules

Please remember not to pick up any cats here at Darling Darlings. This doesn't mean you can't stroke them or pay the cats attention including using the cat toys. Only the Cat Lounge staff can pick the cats up.
We are a café at the end of the day, so please make sure not to encourage the cats on any of the tables or offer them any food. It's important we all work together to make sure that cats don't think they can get food from any customers. They get fed plenty of times a day and don't require any more. This is also very important for their health as some have a variety of diet restrictions.
Many will know about one of our cat residents known as Teddy Bear who suffers epilepsy and hydrocephalus which results him in getting seizures. This means we require everyone to turn the flash off your device when taking photos and videos. This is to protect Teddy Bear from getting anymore seizures.
We also require anyone who brings children in the café to have constant supervision; while we accept children of all ages we are not a day-care! We have many retro and vintage items in the lounge anything that does get broken will be added to your bill! There are items available and board games for the younger ones to play including retro gaming. If you're not sure please make sure to ask on the day or while on the phone.

We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave with bills paid upon breaking any of these rules. They're in place to not only protect the cats but also improve the experience you have here at the lounge.

Our number one priority are the cats!

Are you a huge fan of Stranger Things? Or love vintage games and want a fun evening? Come down and join us after hours at the cat lounge.

Firstly I want to thank everyone who joined us on our first ever quiz night; it was a roaring success! People have already been inquiring when the next one will happen.

So in 2023; Darling Darlings Cat Lounge will be hosting our second Quiz and Game night after hours on the 20th of January. Starting at 6pm the event will last for three hours and will be again based on the Stranger things series on Netflix.

Not only will a prize will be won by our winning team, but many more throughout the quiz and game sessions hosted by our team member Lewis!
