FAQ

  1. Do the cats live on site?

The cats do not live on site, and no cats are left over night. They all clock out when we do upon closing of normal hours and come home with us. This is for their protection and safety.

   2. How many cats do you have?

We currently have six cats at this moment. With our new addition Olive having joined us full time recently. Find out more about them on our Meet the Cats page.

   3. Are we allowed to take photographs and videos?

You can certainly take photos and videos, we also encourage you to share what you have taken during your time with us. However; we like to express that you need to turn off the flash function for the benefit of our cat Teddy who is epileptic. We have zero tolerance on anyone who ignores this important rule.

   4. Where did the name Darling Darlings come from?

Caroline many years ago had a cat called Francis and her pet name for him was 'darling', when he sadly passed, she continued to call her other cats her 'darlings' hence the name 'Darling Darlings Cat lounge'. We prefer to call ourselves a lounge instead of a café as we like to encourage a home away from home feeling where you can easily relax in.

   5. Where did you get all your retro and vintage items from?

We have obtained many of these items in our collection from different places like charity shops, boot sales and Facebook over the years. Some has also been donated to us from our followers; if you're interested in donate some retro and vintage items please give us a call.

   6. Are you open all year round?

We are open all year round, with slightly different opening times between the summer months and winter.

Summer operating hours tend to be Tuesday-Sunday (10am-3:45pm) from until the 1st of November.

Winter operating hours tend to be Tuesday-Saturday (10am-2:45pm) starting on the 1st of November until Mother's day.

   7. Where is the best place to park?

There are many places in the local area to park including council owned car parks, sideroads and bays across the seafront. There is a car park 100m away at The Anchor as well as a Pay & Display car park, North Drive, as few minutes walk away. We do however highly advise you give yourselves at least thirty to forty-five minutes to park before your session, since it can be very difficult which could result in you parking some distance away.

   8. Do you provide alternative options for those who are Vegan, Gluten and dairy-free?

We do offer a vast range of alternatives for everyone to meet the needs of those with food allergies and intolerances. This includes the five different types of milk including the standard cows milk, oat, coconut and soya. It is very important to let us know why booking, so we can make sure we have the items in stock to suit your needs.

   9. Do you have wheel chair access

I'm afraid we are not fully wheel chair accessible. We do intend to address this in the future, but it is important for us to remind we do have stairs going up into the lounge and there are stairs located towards the back.

10. Is the café available for parties, cooperate events outside normal working hours?

Yes we are more then happy to rent the lounge to you without the cats which is available for some mornings and most evenings.

Please call for more information.
